Privacy Notice
This explains what information The Healing Waters collects when you browse, shop, or get in touch with us, and what we do with it.
We collect what we need to take your order, deliver it, and help you if something goes wrong — your name, contact details, address, and order history. We don't run advertising trackers on this site, we don't sell your details to anyone, and you can ask us to show you, correct, or delete what we hold at any time.
What information we collect
Information you give us directly — when you create an account, place an order, or message us, you may share your full name, email address, phone number, delivery address, the town or courier you'd like us to use, and any notes about your order. If you pay by M-Pesa, you'll also give us the confirmation code for that transaction so we can match your payment to your order.
Information your device shares automatically — like most websites, our server notes basic technical details such as your browser type, approximate location (from your IP address), the pages you visit, and how long you spend on them. We use a first-party visit counter that we built and run ourselves to understand which pages and products are useful to people — this is not a third-party advertising service, and the information stays with us.
What we don't collect — we never ask for your card number, M-Pesa PIN, or banking password, and we have no way to see them. We also don't buy contact lists or receive information about you from data brokers or other companies.
How we use your information
- To process and deliver your order, including confirming M-Pesa payments and arranging courier handover.
- To create and manage your account, including letting you log in and view your past orders.
- To reply when you contact us with a question, complaint, or custom remedy request.
- To send order updates — for example, confirming dispatch or letting you know about a delay.
- To keep the shop secure, including spotting unusual order activity that might suggest fraud.
- To improve the site itself, using the visit patterns described above.
If you use the optional remedy-guidance assistant on our site, the question you type is sent to Google's Gemini AI service to generate a response. We don't attach your name, account, or order history to that request — it's treated as an anonymous question.
Cookies and similar technology
We use a small session cookie so the site remembers what's in your cart and keeps you logged in as you move between pages. We also set a first-party visitor identifier so our own analytics can tell repeat visits from new ones. Neither of these is shared with advertisers. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will simply log you out and empty your cart.
How long we keep your information
We keep order records for as long as needed to handle warranty, accounting, and tax obligations under Kenyan law, typically several years. If you close your account, we remove the personal details that aren't required for those obligations, and keep only what we must for our records.
Your choices
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- Show you the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's out of date or inaccurate.
- Delete your account and associated personal details, except where we must keep order records for legal reasons.
- Stop sending you marketing or promotional messages — transactional messages about an active order will still be sent.
To do any of these, contact us using the details at the bottom of this page. We may ask a couple of questions to confirm it's really you before making changes.
Children
Our shop is meant for adults making purchasing decisions for themselves or their households. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we'll remove it.
Keeping your information safe
We take reasonable, practical steps to protect the information you share with us, including restricting who on our team can access order and account data. No website can promise perfect security, so we'd ask that you avoid sending sensitive details — like passwords — over channels like WhatsApp or unencrypted email, and let us know right away if you ever suspect your account has been accessed without your permission.
This notice may be updated from time to time as our shop grows; the date at the top of this page always shows the latest version.
Terms of Service
These are the ground rules for using thehealingwaters.co.ke and buying from us. By placing an order or creating an account, you're agreeing to them.
Agreeing to these terms
By browsing this site, creating an account, or placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Notice. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the site to place an order — you're always welcome to reach out with questions first.
Accounts
You can shop with us as a guest or by creating a free account. If you create one, you're responsible for keeping your password private and for any activity that happens while logged in. Let us know immediately if you think someone else has accessed your account.
Products, descriptions & pricing
We describe our herbs, spices, and organic products as accurately as we can, but because these are natural products, small differences in colour, texture, or scent between batches are normal and not a fault. Photos are for illustration; the size, jar, or packaging you receive may vary slightly.
Prices are shown in Kenyan Shillings and may change without notice, though we'll always honour the price shown to you at the time you complete an order. Occasionally an item may sell out after you've added it to your cart; if that happens, we'll contact you before processing payment.
Orders & payment
We currently accept payment by M-Pesa. After sending payment, you'll enter the M-Pesa confirmation code at checkout so we can match it to your order — orders cannot be processed without it. Please double-check the amount and till/paybill details shown at checkout before sending payment.
An order is only confirmed once we've verified your payment. We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order — for example, if details appear fraudulent, if an item is unexpectedly out of stock, or if we're unable to verify payment — in which case we'll let you know and arrange a refund where one is owed.
Health & usage notice
Our products are sold as natural foods, herbs, spices, and wellness aids. Nothing on this site is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, and none of it replaces advice from a qualified doctor or pharmacist. If you are pregnant, nursing, on prescribed medication, or managing a chronic condition, please speak with a healthcare professional before introducing a new herb, spice, or remedy into your routine.
Use any product according to the guidance on its label or in our resource guides, and stop use and seek medical advice if you experience an adverse reaction.
Using the site fairly
Please don't use the site to attempt fraud, interfere with how it runs, scrape or copy our content for resale, or impersonate another person. We may suspend or close accounts that we believe are being used this way.
Limits of our responsibility
We work hard to keep this site accurate and running smoothly, but we don't guarantee it will always be available or completely error-free. To the extent permitted by Kenyan law, our responsibility for any claim relating to your order is limited to the value of that order, and ends once your order has been dispatched and handed over to a courier or delivery rider — at that point, responsibility for the parcel passes to them. See our Returns & Refunds policy for exactly how this cut-off works and what we can still do to help. We are also not responsible for delays or losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, such as courier disruptions, severe weather, or network outages affecting M-Pesa.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. Any dispute that can't be resolved directly between us will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Kenyan courts. We may update these terms occasionally to reflect changes in how we operate or in the law; continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Shipping & Delivery
What to expect once your order is confirmed — where we deliver, roughly how long it takes, and what it costs.
Where we deliver
We deliver within Nairobi directly, and to towns across Kenya through trusted parcel and bus couriers — at checkout you can tell us your preferred company (for example Ena, Transline, Tahmeed, or Easycoach), or we'll suggest one that serves your area.
Delivery times
Orders within Nairobi are typically delivered within 24–48 hours of payment confirmation. Upcountry orders sent via courier usually arrive within 1–3 days of dispatch, depending on the courier's own schedule and your location. These are estimates, not guarantees — busy periods, weather, or courier delays can occasionally push things back.
Delivery cost
Delivery within Nairobi is charged at checkout based on your location. For upcountry deliveries, you'll typically settle the courier's own carriage fee on collection at your end, in addition to the cost of your order — we'll let you know what to expect before your parcel is dispatched.
Our weekly day of rest
In keeping with our faith, ordering and dispatch pause for the Sabbath, from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. Orders placed just before this window are simply processed once it ends, with no need to re-order — we appreciate your patience around this rhythm.
Tracking your order
Use the Track Order page with your order number to see its current status. For upcountry parcels, your courier may also provide their own tracking or collection notice once your item reaches their branch.
Delayed or missed deliveries
If your order hasn't arrived within the expected window, please reach out to us with your order number before contacting the courier directly — we'll check its status and follow up with them on your behalf. As explained in our Returns & Refunds policy, once an order has been handed to a courier, responsibility for it passes to them, so we're not able to offer a refund or replacement for delays or losses that happen in transit — but we will keep pushing the courier for an update and a resolution.
Returns & Refunds
Because most of what we sell is food, herbs, or topical remedies, and because we have no control over a parcel once it has left our hands, our approach to replacements and refunds is built entirely around the short window before your order is dispatched.
Before you order
Please check product descriptions, sizes, quantities, and your delivery details carefully before completing checkout, and reach out on WhatsApp first if you're unsure whether a product suits your needs — we're happy to advise. Because of how the policy below works, this is the easiest point to catch and fix a mistake.
Changes & corrections before dispatch
If you spot a mistake — wrong item, wrong size, wrong address, or anything else — contact us as soon as possible after placing your order. As long as your order is still with us and has not yet been handed to a courier or rider for delivery, we can correct it, swap it, or refund it.
Once an order has been dispatched and handed over to a courier, it can no longer be changed, replaced, or refunded for these reasons. This is the cut-off point referred to throughout this policy.
Once goods have been handed to a courier
Once an order has left our hands and been handed to a courier or delivery rider, we are no longer able to offer a refund or replacement for that order — this includes items that arrive damaged, delayed, or go missing in transit. Responsibility for the parcel passes to the courier at the point of handover, and what happens to it from there is outside our control.
This doesn't mean we disappear once your parcel is on its way. If something goes wrong in transit, let us know and we will follow up with the courier on your behalf, push for a resolution, and keep you updated on what they tell us. We're glad to help in this way — but we can't promise a particular outcome, and we can't ourselves issue a refund or replacement for something that happened after dispatch.
What can't be returned
For hygiene and safety reasons, we don't accept returns or exchanges on food items, herbs, spices, or topical remedies once they've been opened — this is standard across the industry for consumable products. On top of this, as explained above, no item of any kind — opened or not — can be returned, replaced, or refunded once it has been dispatched and handed to a courier.
How refunds are processed
Where a refund is approved under the pre-dispatch policy above, it is sent back to the M-Pesa number used for the original payment, usually within 3–5 working days of approval. If that's not possible for any reason, we'll agree an alternative with you directly.
Starting a claim
Message us on WhatsApp or email with your order number and a short description of the issue — our contact details are just below. We aim to respond within one business day.
- If your order hasn't been dispatched yet, tell us what needs to change and we'll correct, replace, or refund it.
- If your order has already been dispatched, let us know what's happened and we'll follow up with the courier on your behalf — please note this is a best-effort follow-up, not a refund or replacement.
